Gavin's deep-rooted connection with the maritime world began at a tender age of five, as his parents were embarking on the ambitious project of refitting a boat for a circumnavigation. Tragically, his father's untimely demise put their dream on hold.

Embracing the waters as his life's calling, Gavin dedicated himself to obtaining the necessary qualifications to become a certified sailing instructor. Inheriting his family's dream, his ultimate aspiration is to circumnavigate the globe. Free diving holds a special place in his heart, while his list of hobbies encompasses surfing, fishing, and a wide array of water sports. With eight years of experience as a charter captain in the British Virgin Islands, Gavin possesses an unparalleled knowledge of these waters. His impressive qualifications include the RYA/MCA Yacht Master Ocean Certification, a BVI Boatmaster credential, and a SAMSA Yacht Master Commercial license.

Among his remarkable sailing achievements, Gavin can boast circumnavigating the North and South Atlantic, navigating the Baltic Sea, and embarking on eight Caribbean seasons. He has also sailed for two seasons in the United Kingdom and France, explored the East Coast of Africa from Durban to Kenya, with stops in Madagascar, and embarked on a thrilling surf and sail adventure in Indonesia.

After a period of living and sailing aboard his own vessel with his wife and two young daughters throughout the Caribbean, Gavin has recently returned to chartering in the BVI. He eagerly anticipates the opportunity to welcome you aboard M/Y Philotimo and offer you the vacation of a lifetime!

Marie hails from the Dominican Republic but ventured to Italy during her teenage years to pursue language studies. She initially worked as an interpreter and translator while delving into web marketing. However, her true calling was discovered during part-time work in restaurants, where her soul and genuine nature resonated with the culinary arts.

In a pivotal shift in 2010, she transformed her life by transitioning to a career in yacht cuisine in the US and British Virgin Islands. Today, she stands as a professional Chef with Merit, having graduated from the Ashburton Chefs Academy in Devon, England.

Marie is an undisputed star in the galley, specializing in delectable Italian, European, North American, and Spanish Caribbean cuisine, characterized by creative presentations and impeccable service. Her true magic shines when inspiration strikes, leading to her signature "Marie's Creations" – innovative and mouthwatering dishes, the fruit of passionate culinary exploration.

Marie possesses an unwavering commitment to client service and thrives on delivering those delightful touches that leave guests smiling. While she converses fluently in English, Italian, Spanish, and French, her true mastery lies in the language of exceptional service and gastronomic delight.
