Captain Paul Garfield:

Captain Paul Garfield, a native of South Africa, developed a deep passion for sailing at a young age. Beginning with racing sailing dinghies at the tender age of six, he swiftly progressed to yachts by the time he turned 19. With a wealth of experience on various yachts, he eventually found his stride in the 40-meter range. Paul's most recent command was aboard the prestigious M/Y SWEET ESCAPE, where he orchestrated numerous successful charters in the stunning waters of the Bahamas. Having captained 40-meter yachts for a commendable seven years and completed an impressive 14 Atlantic crossings, Paul is a seasoned seafarer. His love for water sports and swimming is evident, as he holds certifications as a PADI dive master and jet ski instructor. Recently, Paul has also taken up the thrilling sport of kite surfing. As the Captain of M/Y OCULUS, his foremost goal is to cultivate a vibrant and progressive work environment while ensuring the utmost satisfaction for charter guests with his exceptional service.

Paul Nelson - Chief Officer:

Born and raised in the picturesque city of Plymouth, England, Paul Nelson has always been drawn to the allure of the great outdoors. Despite growing up in an urban environment, he found solace in hiking through nature's splendor. In 2012, Paul decided to embark on a yachting career after spending over a decade as a dive instructor on both small and large vessels. His adventurous spirit led him to spend six months sailing on liveaboards, undertake a yacht delivery across the vast Pacific, and assume the role of a white boat captain for a luxury island resort nestled in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. While on land, Paul finds joy in activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and embarking on solo journeys. Equipped with a background in marine biology, he feels most at home underwater, whether cave diving or imparting his scuba diving expertise to others. His unwavering enthusiasm and expertise make him an invaluable asset as the Chief Officer aboard the magnificent OCULUS.

Fiona Last - Chief Stew:

Hailing from the charming city of Oxford, UK, Fiona's upbringing in a quaint countryside village adjacent to a farm instilled in her a deep appreciation for simplicity and rural life. Although she holds a degree in television production, Fiona's love for the hospitality industry has guided her professional path since her early teenage years. After gaining experience in event management in London, she relocated to Australia and instantly fell in love with the sea. Fiona spent two memorable years working on a dive boat in the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef before transitioning to the superyacht industry. Her initial foray into diving began in her homeland of the UK, where she immersed herself in PADI training amidst the chilly lakes of Northern England. Alongside her passion for diving, Fiona finds solace in reading, snorkeling, and wakeboarding. With her warm and effervescent demeanor, Fiona, now a cherished member of the OCULUS crew, is dedicated to ensuring an exceptional experience for all on board.
